What a request needs
Three details identify an item. They go in the form rows or in an attached procurement list; an item without its manufacturer and part number cannot be processed until those details are supplied.
Manufacturer
Names who made the installed item, so the enquiry goes to the right source. A description alone ("a 6-inch gate valve") fits many items; the manufacturer's name and the part number together identify one.
Part number
The manufacturer's own reference for the item, taken from the nameplate, the manual or a previous order. Where one reference covers several materials, ratings or revisions, state which one is installed. With the manufacturer, it is what we source and quote against.
Quantity
With its unit: pieces, sets, metres, kits. Quantity affects the price, the lead time and the packaging.
From request to delivery
Four steps, each confirmed in writing.
Request
You send the manufacturer, part number and quantity for each item, or attach a procurement list, and we confirm receipt. An item without its manufacturer and part number cannot be processed until those details are supplied.
Sourcing review
We check availability, lead time and commercial terms with the relevant manufacturers and distributors in the network.
Quotation
For the items that can be sourced you receive a quotation with prices, validity, lead time and delivery terms. Timing depends on the product and sourcing requirements.
Order and delivery
On a confirmed order we coordinate documentation and logistics to the destination airport, as set out in the quotation.
Commercial terms and scope
- Quotation
- Per item or per lot. Where more than one source exists, we select one on availability, lead time and commercial terms and quote that source.
- Order value
- Our sourcing service is structured for procurement requirements of US$30,000 and above. Smaller confirmed purchases are considered individually.
- Logistics and availability
- Arranged for confirmed orders to the destination airport, as the quotation sets out. Items are sourced against each request, with availability and lead time confirmed with the manufacturer or distributor before we quote.
- Scope
- We supply the equipment and parts that your engineering or maintenance team specifies, sourced from the manufacturer or its distributors, and coordinate the enquiry, the quotation, the order and the delivery documents from Doha.
